The North Orange County Community College District, School of Continuing Education at Cypress College offers classes in vocational bartending.

The course is not limited to bartending. Included in the curriculum is Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training as well as Alcohol Beverage Control Laws. Former students have secured positions as bartenders and bar managers for large hotels and resorts, restaurants and nightclubs. Some students have even gone on to open their own establishments. This program was the first ever to be offered at a community college.

The instructor, Dan Salisbury, has been the Coordinator of Vocational Bartending since 1974. In addition, he has been a professional bartender for over 45 years. During his career, Salisbury has instructed in excess of 20,000 students.
